Biosimilars

Hello दोस्तों! आज हम समझेंगे Biosimilars के बारे में, जो medicine और healthcare में बहुत important हैं, और exams में भी frequently पूछे जाते हैं। Biosimilars वो biologic medical products होते हैं, जो लगभग वही effect देते हैं जैसा original innovator biologic देता है, लेकिन इन्हें दूसरी company बनाती है जब original drug का patent खत्म हो जाता है। इसे आप समझो जैसे “generics of biologics”, लेकिन ध्यान रहे कि ये exact copy नहीं होते। Generics और Biosimilars में फर्क clear है। Generics simple chemical molecules होते हैं, cheap होते हैं और जल्दी बन जाते हैं, जबकि Biosimilars complex proteins या living cells होते हैं, expensive होते हैं और इनका development 6–7 साल तक ले सकता है। Par सबसे जरूरी बात यह है कि दोनों का therapeutic effect same होता है। अब सवाल ये है कि ये क्यों important हैं। दुनिया में diseases जैसे cancer, diabetes और arthritis लगातार बढ़ रहे हैं, और original biologics बहुत expensive होते हैं। यहीं पर Biosimilars काम आते हैं, क्योंकि ये cheaper होते हैं और ज्यादा लोग treatment afford कर सकते हैं। India ने इस field में भी बड़ा कदम रखा है; 2014 में Zydus Cadila ने world’s first biosimilar for Adalimumab बनाया, जो rheumatoid arthritis के लिए था। Biosimilars सिर्फ affordability ही नहीं बढ़ाते, बल्कि NCDs जैसे cancer, asthma और diabetes में focus करके healthcare access और human development को improve करते हैं। इसके अलावा, ये Indian pharma को advanced R&D की तरफ push करते हैं और innovation में मदद करते हैं। लेकिन challenges भी हैं। इनका development costly और time-consuming है, investors hesitant होते हैं, expertise gap है, regulatory rules evolving हैं और safety और ethics पर हमेशा ध्यान रखना पड़ता है। Way forward यह है कि हमें clear rules जैसे US FDA और EU EMA follow करने चाहिए, government support और incentives देने चाहिए, biotech R&D expand करनी चाहिए, global strategy में WTO/TRIPS का सही use करना चाहिए और strong ethical monitoring रखना चाहिए। Short में कहें तो, Biosimilars medicines हैं जो expensive biologics का cheaper और effective version हैं, और ये India के pharma sector और healthcare future के लिए बहुत important हैं।
